and i will weep
because it is so sweet

i was just thinking about being an old man

or planning our lives

everyday…our vision somehow gets more cloudy

and each day is more lonely

is that youth is a time when we weren’t so afraid

and as we grow

we become more aware of ourselves

there seems to be more at stake.

i was happier back then but didnt know it

because i was free

sure i can buy more things

travel to more places

but i also found myself more astonished back then

i want to get back to that place
where aspirations were promise rather than fear

although wit,
cleverness,
intelligence are
important
the most important element
is IMAGINATION
it’s how you can
come
to describe
the soul
as a drop of dew,
resting
on a dark rose [the body]
waiting to be exhaled
back into the air
by the sun

can we all just
listen to music
and feel
again
and talk about big things
and little things [microcosms]
and enjoy that
and have it feed our souls
and that be enoug
h
and not worry about jobs
about funding
about prestige
why can’t we have that again?
was it ever like that?

so now
my ecstasies are performed
in silence
ravish the soul
i love the image of a moment
so astonishing that
your soul just jumps out of your body
and is carried away
abducted
by the experience

i’ve thought a lot about it.
