How quickly
the seasons
change

morning with the fog
hanging
close to the ground.
Windows wide open
the crisp air

On the way home
I saw this tree with bright
yellow leaves hanging
over a street light.

Much more colorful

I’m known for
my
many color-filled
morning sunrises
and evening sunset
photos over the past few
months.

Those days seem to be
over.

The dead zone of summer
is here when the calendar
is void of opportunities
to hear new music; experience live
theater; or marvel at the power of dance.
Fortunately, there is the sky

Is the glow
in the morning sky
an unusually intense
red sunrise,
or is it all those blazing
candles on on your birthday cake?

I can feel the heat
already just
by watching the sunrise.
