Less Risky

We accept what we’re given
With every concession, our dreams
drift further from our grasp
and the fire that burned in our hearts
has dwindled to a whispering ember…

We were strong once, but
in our journey we lost our way.
After falling so many times
we decided it was less risky to stay down, to accept

We forgot who we were

I can’t believe that
The dream still
exists

Differently When They’re In Love

each of the cells in our bodies
behaves like a miniature human.
so, we have fifty trillion human
working together; side-by-side
they accomplish the pumping
of our heart’s blood and the breathing
in our lungs
when we feel love,
our cells have the vibration
of love too. protons
easily wrap themselves
into organic wire sculptures and move

the protein sculptures move completely
differently when they’re “in love”

monstrosity

When I was born & she was 1,
my sister, unable to pronounce
my name, baptised me
‘cuco’ — that alien being
which prowls the night
of children’s minds…

From this I learned a valuable lesson
& to cherish the monstrosity
of my being. & you,
when did you accept your monster-being?

Shadow Can Also Be Seen As a New Color

Green does not see itself as green,
nor is it reminded of lush forest.
Yellow is no more cheerful and sunny
when it sees itself. Red, itself,
is not passionate nor angry.
Royal blue does not consider itself
of regal blood.

Darkness is not opposite to light,
but rather its companion. If we remove
the identities that couple themselves
physically, emotionally, to witnessing
this inevitable marriage, we may break
away from gravitational pull by melting
the gold we collect in our lifetimes,
letting it seep through our fingers
into the ground,
and back to our planet’s core,
far away and immeasurable.

Quiet.

A secret,

unprovable

radiance
in which we simply trust.

Gold-covered gold,
all divisions lost,
and a present of which to be faintly
aware but to never unwrap, as we float
endlessly, timelessly
out into the ever-unknown
in all we feel, think, say, and do.
