Paper lips are fragile;
easily ripped and torn.
But the words that pass
through them can border
on the devine or
the most hateful of scorn.

Thoughts swarm like swallows.
Swooping, flapping,
following, singing;
unsure of their destination, but insistent
to arrive there. Where

It is fairly widely known that the plants have hatreds
between themselves.
It is said that the olive and the vine hate the cabbage;

Up late,
if I was one of those
“crazy”
Black Friday shoppers.
But I do not have any
super deal shopping to do
or sleep to lose over it,
just a great day
Only scheduled event
is breakfast
at Grumpy’s Diner
if I choose to
I may buy something
else who knows?

thankful that the Middle Ages ended.
Let’s not bring them back.

An old fortune teller read
my soul in two minutes, with frightening
accuracy, and invited myself and others to her

to rest peacefully.
And she was from Michigan!
Just another night at Wonder
Book…

That’s what happens when you’re sleeping
on a metaphor.
Sleep well and may your bed
find the strength to sustain
the beautiful burdens of your dreams.
