Family and friends,
bear with me for a moment
while I paint you a picture.
In a sea of children
who do not even understand
This boy’s only flaw being
that he occasionally gets
too curious and asks
too many questions.
The only time he stays after school (every day)
is because he is sweeping floors,
putting chairs up on desks
He always has a smile on his face
and I’ve rarely heard him
Yesterday
he was beaten quite badly and I’m simply
asking for your thoughts
and prayers that he heals quickly
and with confidence that, for every one person
who will randomly hurt another,
there are ten that will randomly love another.

Mangled, upturned trees
rooted in My Heart.
Birds venture about
the heaps of broken branches
looking for what was once their Home.
Drying and dying full of life.
I bless this action
with all my own life

A malfunction
in a device from HeartWare International Inc. (HTWR)
used to take over the heart’s
beating
action
led to a patient death,
U.S. regulators said.
The company’s shares declined.

gonna unfriend all the boys
including myself
Seriously, I won’t
sleep until all of the rights
of males in the world are
taken away and given
to women

earth is magical.
i still just don’t understand
how everyone on airplanes
aren’t looking out their window
in awe the whole time…

my heart decays into rosedust
every day when I think
of how far away you are,
how impossible my happiness,
how incomprehensible
this very earth,
how long until
stars flutter into cinnamon
and nutmeg
and cumin

It’s always lovely
to be awakened at the crack of dawn–
far sooner than you’d like to wake up–
because some entity is practicing
the ol’ “Early bird gets the worm” philosophy
right outside your bedroom window
such as the garbage truck,
a psychotic squirrel,
the lawn-mowing crew,
or in this particular case
a search helicopter
which decides to park its rumpus
directly above my apartment complex
for about 15 solid minutes.
perhaps a tenant-watching
guardian angel alerting me
to some proximate danger
lest I find myself criminally victimized
Either way, carpe diem!
