Morning

Enjoying a morning of contemplative alone time.

Thinking about how delicious a breakfast sandwich really
is after not eating a real meal for two days.

Thinking about the kindness of friends and strangers,
who brought me ginger ale and carried my bags

Thinking about how fragile we are, and what amazing
performers can do for our souls.

Thinking about how wonderful it is to here,
and how lucky I am to be

peal off the hard shell

After eating a large meal
of raw sea crustaceans (you had to peal off
the hard shell, which revealed
shapeless but firm squid-like
meat with several moving tendrils,
then dip it in a creamy butter sauce
with basil.
The meal made me very ill)…
I went to the opera house and saw
a modernist work called “Polygon.”

Reminders

Old Tears are
Fresh Tears. Reminders
of the very first time We Cried.
I remind of the Crying
to come and eventually go.
Observe the tears, they hold the answer
to our Deepest Fears.
They’re as easily shed as the Tears.

Wash away the Pain,
Wash away the Sorrow.
