im remember earlier times

when we had our lives ahead of us

[we still do]

but we didnt care so much about prestige

or planning our lives

everyday…our vision somehow gets more cloudy

and each day is more lonely

i want to believe as you do

but the truth for me…and i think for many

is that youth is a time when we weren’t so afraid

and as we grow

we become more aware of ourselves

there seems to be more at stake.

i was happier back then but didnt know it

because i was free

sure i can buy more things

travel to more places

but i also found myself more astonished back then

i want to get back to that place
where aspirations were promise rather than fear
