My nighthawks are back,
heard them last night
Alway glad
to hear them, brings back
good memories of my hometown
and the nighthawks that flew around St Francis
Xavier church and school parking lot
in the summer.

So i hear last night on the news
two fisherman that didn’t come home
the other night and found both of their bodies
yesterday morning at the mouth
of the detroit river.

That was the day the wind was blowing
out of the south and i didn’t go out.
When are people going to learn, check the weather,
don’t take chances,
the fish aren’t worth it
