It’s 4:32am.
I was woken up
by the sound of a mosquito
and have hunted down 5
in the last half hour…

(Turns out part of my good ear’s
“compensatory high-frequency hearing”
means mosquitos sound like Formula 1
cars when they fly in the downstairs window.

I’ve only got the one functioning ear,
I can’t locate where she is, so
I’ve been spinning around,
visually
scanning
my apartment like a crazy
person. Maybe if I fashion some sort of

…hat…out of…tin foil…)
