I learned a lot about color
in my years,
One of my departments was design.
I learned that the human eye can distinguish vastly more many shades of green than any other color.
In a time when we hunted and gathered,
A slight difference in a green shade could mean the difference between
healthy food
and poison.

I got to thinking about this recently
when I was teaching my husband about dying wool and silk.
He would often say, “Oh, I don’t like that color a bit.”
I’d always respond,
“There are no bad colors, just bad combinations.”

I couldn’t get those greens out of my head.
