I’m sorry you are arriving the day after Epiphany
But it will still be Carnivale when you return
Another meeting shall be arranged,
I shouldn’t wonder,
one Baby
deciding who will be King of Fools
for the night

I learned a lot about color
in my years,
One of my departments was design.
I learned that the human eye can distinguish vastly more many shades of green than any other color.
In a time when we hunted and gathered,
A slight difference in a green shade could mean the difference between
healthy food
and poison.
I got to thinking about this recently
when I was teaching my husband about dying wool and silk.
He would often say, “Oh, I don’t like that color a bit.”
I’d always respond,
“There are no bad colors, just bad combinations.”
I couldn’t get those greens out of my head.

At last night’s office party,
there was a DJ
who kept saying
he would take requests
and could play anything.
I was so tempted to ask him
if
he could play some Renaissance harp.

YES!
DOYLE.
So true,
so true,
strue,
strew,
strewn—
truth strewn across the land of what you just wrote.
Yeah, those weeks do happen.
Quite a beautiful,
melancholy,
anticipatory time of year for sure.
Such is life,
but life continues,
perpetuates,
even if the Euro is on the brink of collapse.
Bless us.

The sun god.
She wants the sun god.
She kissed their mummy,
They have a mummy in a glass case,
“Oh, poor little thing,”
And she kissed her.
The doctors don’t know what to do with her.
